Arriving in Moreton Bay aboard the Ocean Chief in 1862. He purchased farmland at Oxley Creek, later relocating to Warwick to focus on lucerne production before retiring in Allora. Through land acquisition, leasing, and stewardship, William laid the foundation for what would become seven generations of property-minded legacy — one we proudly carry forward today.
After settling with his father and joining the Gympie gold rush. James later became a director at Barnes & Co. - dealing in commercial property, flour mills, and regional retail. His leadership in landholding and enterprise helped shape Queensland townships, while his role as Chairman of the Allora Shire Council reinforced the Dean family’s early connection to property, development, and community planning.
After studying at Ipswich Grammar, he managed a Goondiwindi emporium during WWI. In the 1920s, moved to Cleveland, establishing himself in commercial real estate and becoming a qualified valuer. Founding E.C. Dean & Sons Estate Agency, specialising in real estate, valuations, and auctions. In 1939, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Australia.
Born 27 May 1912 in Allora, was the eldest son of Clayton Dean. A skilled real estate valuer, licensed auctioneer, and land developer, Harding played a key role as director of E.C. Dean & Sons. He was a prominent figure in the industry, serving as President of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) and CEO of Suncorp (formerly known as CEIO).
Owner of GH Dean & Co (Building) and GH Dean Real Estate, operated in Wynnum Manly, Mt Gravatt, Townsville & Darwin. He worked with his brother Jim until he left to start James Dean Residential, a well-known business in the Wynnum Manly Bayside area. Geoffrey was involved in over 300 speculative developments, focusing on building, development, and real estate, particularly in Wynnum Manly
Becoming the youngest foreman at G & J Box at 19, Russell was determined to carry forward the family legacy from an early age. He later worked as a real estate agent at PRD Capalaba before founding his own building company, JAR Dean—named after Geoffrey’s three sons: Jacob, Andrew, and Russell—and later establishing QBC. Russell focused on small developments, commercial and residential real estate, and building projects—cementing a strong foundation in the property industry.
Eldest daughter of Russell, began her career in property management at Ray White, before transitioning into commercial sales and leasing at PRD, following her father’s path. She later became Department Head at First National and expanded her expertise in real estate acquisitions, development, and onsite management with Fortune 500 firm JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle). Brooke then went on to found QU Property, continuing the family’s longstanding involvement in Queensland real estate.
The principal of the agency Brooke Dean brings her wealth of real estate knowledge to the new brand. Continuing a legacy to a long line of real estate agents and property professionals – over 100 years on, Brooke contributes to seven generations of family success in the industry where she continues to grow an agency built around a community of like-minded professionals who like herself, hold genuine regard for client satisfaction.
